Saved from the rising waters of Lake Nasser when the Aswan High Dam was constructed, the two 65-foot figures of Pharaoh Ramses II sit on a throne facing the rising sun. If time allows before your return to Aswan, go to the visitor centre and see how both the temples were relocated, piece by piece, in 1968 to save them from flooding. Late afternoon our private coach will return us back to Aswan for dinner.
