We begin our journey in the vibrant streets of Bangkok, Thailand, where bustling markets and ornate temples beckon. Savour delectable Thai cuisine, explore ancient ruins, visit an Elephant sanctuary and embark on serene boat rides through the floating markets. Crossing into Cambodia we will take an extraordinary tour through a land steeped in both ancient grandeur and contemporary resilience.     Arrival in Bangkok (3 nights)

    On arrival in Bangkok we will be met by our Tour Manager and transferred to our hotel. In the evening we’ll have our first hosted group dinner in a nearby restaurant (payable locally) Airport transfers included.

    7th January 2025

    Bangkok (Breakfast & lunch included)

    Pick up 06.30 am After breakfast we’ll visit Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, where you can experience the traditional Thai market with numerous vendors selling local food, fresh fruit and products from their boats. After exploring the market we’ll drive to Kanchanaburi, famous for the Death Railway built during WWII. Made famous by the book and movie The Bridge on the River Kwai, the bridge and railway are notable attractions in Kanchanaburi. Today, carriages still go on the tracks, taking travellers through the fields of sugar cane and rice terraces. Finally, we will pay a visit to the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre to learn more history about the railway. Group dinner at a local restaurant (payable locally) All entrance fees are included and our tour guide will be with us throughout our stay.

    Bangkok (Breakfast & lunch included)

    We will embark on a temple tour visiting the Grand Palace, home of the Thai Royal family until 1925. The palace contains countless shrines adorned in mosaic gold and glittering mirrors. Then we visit the 3 temples of Wat Arun, the spectacular Buddhist temple, also known as the Temple of Dawn, Wat Pho with its enormous gold Buddha statue measuring an impressive 46 meters in length and Wat Traimit (or the temple of the Golden Buddah weighing a staggering 5.5 tons and contains one of the largest statues in Asia. We will enjoy the rest of our day at leisure.

    We take a flight to Chiang Rai, where we’ll be transferred to our hotel for check-in and enjoy leisure time. Group dinner at a local restaurant (payable locally). Airport transfers in Bangkok and Chiang Rai are included

    Overnight in Chiang Rai (Breakfast & lunch included)

    Today, we head to the Golden Triangle region for a full day excursion. We start the morning by Long Neck Karen Village to see the Long Neck Hill tribe people who relocated from the Thai and Myanmar border. Then we drive to Mt. Doi Mae Salong to visit the Chinese village on the top of the mountain. After we drive back to the hotel to enjoy some free time. Group dinner at a local restaurant (payable locally) Entrance fees are included.

    11th January 2025

    Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai (Breakfast & lunch included)

    We will be transferred by private coach from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai. On arrival we will be met by our Tour Manager and transferred to our hotel. Today we’ll visit Meow Hill Tribe Village located on Doi Suthep. This was once famous for opium cultivation. Then we head to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, where you can get panoramic views of Chiang Mai City. The site is also one of the best places to enjoy a sunset. The highlight of the day is a visit to Wat Rong Khun, better known as “the White Temple”, one of the most recognizable temples in Thailand. Group dinner at a local restaurant (payable locally). Entrance fees are included.

    12th January 2025

    Today we’ll tour the beautiful temples in Chiang Mai. Start with the Buddhist temple of Wat Umong, nestled in the forested foothills of Suthep Mountain. Then visit Wat Suan Dok built in the 14th century, a white bell-shaped temple housing a 20-foot (6-meter) Buddha. See the large prayer hall and the unique open-sided chapel. In the afternoon, visit Wat Phra Singh which houses the famous Phra Singh Buddha image. Continue on to Wat Chedi Luang which once contained the Emerald Buddha and later became partially in ruins due to an earthquake in the 1500s. Then we stop at Wat Chiang Man which is the oldest temple in Chiang Mai and houses one of Thailand's greatest treasures, the Crystal Buddha. Finally, visit Wat Jet Yot, a peaceful temple that is surrounded by greenery. Group dinner at a local restaurant (payable locally). Entrance fees are included.

    Today’s tour is to the elephant rescue and rehabilitation centre involved in the rescue of disabled elephants, dogs and cats. You can volunteer and care for the animals. Take your time to wander freely on the grounds and get close to these gentle giants. You get the opportunity to feed them and learn how to bathe them. Group dinner at a local restaurant (payable locally). Entrance fees and lunch are included.

    After breakfast, our guide will escort us to the airport for our flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia. On arrival we will be met by our Tour Manager and transferred to our hotel.     Siem Reap (Breakfast & lunch included)

    Today, we begin your exploration of the remains of Khmer Empire that once ruled much of Southeast Asia. Angkor served as the seat of the empire. The morning tour is to the ancient capital city of Angkor Thom. First on the agenda is Ta Prohm. Huge silk-cotton trees and strangler figs grow over, around, and through the ancient stone blocks. The temple makes you feel as if you are in an adventure movie set. Then, visit Banteay Kdei, a smaller version of Ta Prohm. Continue to Victory Gate, Terrace of the Leper King, Royal Palace, Baphuon Temple and Bayon Temple. Bayon sets itself apart with its 200 smiling faces. With winding tunnels, chambers, and climbs, Bayon offers many exciting moments to keep your camera busy. In the afternoon, we head to Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. Angkor Wat possesses some of the longest and most intricate stone carvings. Spend the afternoon fully exploring the passages, levels, and chambers that once housed many treasures of the flourishing kingdom. Group dinner at a local restaurant (payable locally).     Siem Reap – Flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Breakfast & lunch included) Flight included in your holiday price.

    In the morning we head towards the deep jungle to visit Banteay Srei. The temple is carved from red sandstone, a medium that lends itself to elaborate wall carvings, which are well preserved to this day. After lunch, we take a half day excursion to the biggest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia - Tonle Sap Lake. We’ll take a boat trip to enjoy the beautiful lake views and mangrove forests. After our boat ride we continue to Kompong Phluk, the largest village on the lake, to discover the fascinating daily lifestyle of the local people who live on the water. After our excursions we will be transferred to Siem Reap airport for our internal flight to Ho Chi Minh city.

    Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta (Breakfast & lunch included)

    We head South of Ho Chi Minh City to Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta, a region famous for its coconut production. Upon arrival, set out on a boat trip winding through mangrove forests. Stop at a brick and coconut processing workshop to see how the locals make bricks by hand and learn how to make different products from coconuts as well. Sample sweets, and fruits and listen to local traditional music. Then take a short walk to the farmer's house who makes sleep mats, where straw mats are woven using a hand loom – you can even have a go at weaving yourself We then hop on a tuktuk for a ride through local hamlets, rice fields and coconut groves. The morning will end with a delicious lunch at a local restaurant with its Mekong Delta specialities. Enjoy a short transfer by rowing boat on a shady palm tree canal. Go back by boat to the pier and return to Ho Chi Minh City.

    Ho Chi Minh City – Cuchi Tunnel & Half day city tour (Breakfast & lunch included)

    Our guide will meet us at our hotel for out departure from Saigon with a stop en route to visit a family producing rice paper. Here we will share some time with them and then continue to Cu Chi Tunnels. Getting at the site in the mid-morning, your guide takes you first through an introductory video before visiting the relics. Along the visit, you will have the chance to see various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters. The next hour is dedicated to exploring the maze of tunnels and to understand better how the Viet Cong survived in this underground network. Back to Saigon for lunch.

    In the afternoon, visit the Independence Palace, the former residence of the President of South Vietnam with the “War Room”, where the South Vietnamese forces were controlled, and the room where the North Vietnamese army finally took control in the Fall of Saigon in 1975. Next visit is the War Remnants Museum, which was previously known as the “Museum of American War Crimes” and contains countless artefacts and photographs documenting said crimes - the killing of civilians, spreading of chemicals, torturing of prisoners, and the effects of the war on the north. Planes, tanks, bombs, and helicopters are displayed, and outside the museum are some rooms displaying cultural products of Vietnam. Then head to Notre Dame Cathedral, which was built between 1877 and 1883 with materials mostly imported from France. Neo-Romanesque in form, it is a major centre of Catholicism in modern Vietnam and one of the city’s major landmarks.
