Day 2 | 22nd November
Marrakesh Medina & Saadian Tombs After breakfast we have a private tour learning about the history behind the medina walls with a specialist city tour guide. We will visit the souks and palaces of the old medina and the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace and the Koutoubia Mosque amongst other sights. This evening, we will take our group dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 3 | 23rd November
Day trip into the Atlas Mountains Today we travel across the plain of Haouz and to the Takerkoust lake and climb up the limestone escarpment to the Plateau di Kik with its view across to Marrakech. Our journey takes us though the Berber farm on the mountains and to the Toubkal national Park, descending to the valley of Ouirgane in the middle of the High Atlas. We will have a walk around the oak forests of the foothills and take a tea with a Berber family. What to expect when you take tea with a Berber family: Your host will prepare Atay bi Nanaa (Moroccan mint tea) using fresh mint leaves and a generous amount of sugar. Our host will then pour the tea from a height to aerate it and create a signature froth at the top. Tea is usually accompanied by warm, freshly baked traditional bread, local honey, and olive oil. After our tea we will see the village of Asni before descending back down the mountains to Marrakech. This evening, we will take our group dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 4 | 24th November
Train to Casablanca – After breakfast we are transferred to the train station, where you will travel first class to Casablanca (2.5 to 3 hours to Casablanca). In the afternoon we will visit the Hassan II Mosque with a local guide. This afternoon is at leisure - you may wish to explore the older part of Casablanca with Rick’s Café or take a walk along the corniche. This evening, we will take our group dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 5 | 25th November
Private tour of Rabat – After breakfast we have our private transfer to Rabat, (about 1-1.5hr drive), the political and administrative capital of Morocco, located on the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the Bou Regreg river. Unlike busier tourist hubs like Marrakesh, it is known for its relaxed pace, wide, clean boulevards, and welcoming atmosphere. The city is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site that perfectly blends ancient history with modern French-colonial design. On arrival we have a guided tour of the Chellah and the Oudaya kasbah, and the Hassan II tower with the highly decorated mausoleum. We spend the night in Rabat where we will take our group dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 6| 26th November
Meknes – After breakfast we head to Meknes by minibus. Meknes is one of Morocco’s four Imperial Cities, and is a UNESCO-listed gem. Founded in the 11th century, it is renowned for its monumental gates, grand palaces, and the architectural legacy of Sultan Moulay Ismaïl. It is also the prime gateway to the Roman ruins of Volubilis. On arrival we will visit the sights such as the Bab Al Mansour and the Najjarine Souk, the 17C palace of Moulay Ismail and the Bou Inania Madrassa. We spend the night in Rabat where we will take our group dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 7 | 27th November
Rabat- Moulay Idriss & the ruins of Volubilis – Fez Today we drive to Fez, the country's oldest imperial city and its cultural and spiritual capital. Renowned for its sprawling, car-free medina (Fes el-Bali), it transports visitors back in time with its labyrinthine streets, ancient Islamic architecture, and centuries-old leather tanneries. On the way to Fez we will stop at the town of Moulay Idriss, a shrine to the founder of Morocco, next is a visit to the Roman ruins of Volubilis with its well-preserved Forum and mosaics. Then onwards to Fez past the small foothills and fields of chickpeas. We spend the night in Fez where we will take our group dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 8 | 28th November
Guided tour of Fez – After breakfast we have a specialist guided Tour of Fez, visiting El-Bali, the oldest part of the city, dating back to the 9th century. We then visit the tanneries and the dyers, learning all about this age-old tradition, though take a sprig of mint to disguise the smell! On to Tal in Fez el-Jadid, the newer part of the city noted for the great views over the city from the Musee de L’armes. We spend another night in Fez where we will take our group dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 9 | 29th November
Fez at your own pace – Breakfast at leisure. Today is a free day to explore the city of Fez- perhaps you would like to have a local hammam or learn about Fassi cooking in a cookery course. Activities can be suggested and organised by a guide. We spend our final night in Fez where we will take our group dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 10 | 30th November
Tangier & Chefchaouen – After our group breakfast we take our private transfer into the Rif mountains in the North of Morocco and visit the small town of Chefchaouen, noted for its highly photogenic, blue-washed alleyways and old streets. Round every corner is a scenic view. The town is small enough to be explored and perhaps after a coffee in the main square. We then continue onward with the journey to the Caves of Hercules on the coast south of Tangier. After a visit here, we reach Tangier, our home until our departure. We will take our group dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 11 | 1st December
Tangier – After breakfast we have a morning guided tour of Tangier where we will see the sights of the petit and Grand Socco. Tangier is a cosmopolitan gateway in northern Morocco, uniquely positioned where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean and Africa nearly touches Spain. Known for its multicultural heritage and bohemian artistic history, the "White City" is famous for its vibrant medina and sweeping beaches. This afternoon is free to explore the city further relaxing or shopping for your last minute gifts. This evening we take our farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
