Lesvos for my birthday - Liz Kennedy

This year for my birthday I wanted to go away from Los Angeles, CA where I currently live and have an experience of a lifetime! As an actor because of the strike going on it seemed like a good time to do it. So, when I saw the post in a Meet up group for a holiday to Lesvos, Greece which included going to an international lesbian festival, how could I not find out the details?! I was looking for an adventure and Greece has definitely been on my bucket list of places to visit. As soon as I found out that this trip was in my price range I immediately contacted Jen of Diva Destinations who was hosting the holiday to book the trip. The travel arrangements were a little tricky for me to manage, as I had never been to Lesvos before this trip, and Jen was extremely helpful; literally walking me through booking our airport hotel in London and our round trip bus transfers from Heathrow to London Gatwick. The Rock

Travel arrangements made easy with Diva Destinations

I was very anxious several days before leading up to this trip and my mind was immediately put at ease as soon as I arrived in Gatwick the night before our flight to Greece as I was welcomed by Jen, Caron and Sophie at dinner with some of the group members. I felt very confident that I was in good company from the very beginning of the trip. When we arrived at the Aeolian hotel in Eressos I was very pleased with the accommodations and being someone with dietary limitations I was happy to find out that there were gluten and dairy free options for me at every meal. The hotel also provided unlimited access to paddle boarding, kayaking, bicycling and there was even a court for pickleball. The village where all of the workshops and entertainment for the Sappho festival was a short 10 minute walk from the hotel and it was very easy to attend all of the activities if you wanted to. I attended a couple of workshops and I really enjoyed the workshop given by the founder of Tello Films along with being able to network as an actor with several people at this workshop! Who knew that I would find out about the all lesbian content network in Greece! I also found a vegan restaurant in the village that day that also had gluten-free options and I went there several afternoons to eat their delicious, homemade food.

Me - singing solo at the Cabaret Night

Stepping out of my comfort zone …

Along with networking I also had the opportunity to sing and perform in the festival's cabaret night - my first time singing solo in front of an audience that size definitely exceeded my expectations as I was cheered on by the crowd! The entire holiday with Diva Destinations exceeded all of my expectations and I was so happy that I just booked another holiday adventure with them in November!!
